Portrait of my Mum, a fantastic cook, with her Kenwood food mixer which was a wedding present 46 years ago.
The set up for this photo is a flash fired through a shoot-through umbrella just out of the frame to camera right. The flash is slightly closer to the camera than Mum and is fired down at a 45˚ angle and directed at her face. The light stand is on the kitchen surface and behind it is a large window. The idea was to make the light on Mum’s face look like strong light coming through this window.
